Social-Emotional Learning in Expanded Learning Programs

Through our previous papers, “Student Success Comes Full Circle” and “Finding Common Ground,” PCY outlined the opportunity for alignment between the school day and expanded learning programs around social-emotional learning (SEL).

We’ve created this two-page infographic to demonstrate the close connection between expanded learning programs and SEL at-a-glance. This tool can be used during trainings in preparation for the school year, to show staff how their programs support SEL outcomes for students. It provides program coordinators, managers, and leaders with a ready framework to discuss SEL with their school partners.

SEL is foundational to expanded learning programs, and this expertise provides a common ground to work with the school day to support student success.
