Registration: $1250 per person (registration link coming soon!)

What is the Institute?

PCY is excited to partner with The Center for District Innovation and Leadership in Early Education (DIAL EE) to offer a unique multi-day convening on implementing a comprehensive early learning strategy that integrates Universal PreKindergarten, Transitional Kindergarten, Expanded Learning and other whole child initiatives. The Institute is:

  • Targeted to district teams who will work together to set goals, acknowledge challenges, and identify solutions for early education in their districts

  • A venue with rich content and formats differentiated and tailored to participants

  • An opportunity to  receive an individualized data packet to support the LEA’s  understanding and decision making toward planning and implementation

  • A forum with focused facilitation to  guide thinking, reflection, and support collaborative planning

  • An opportunity to hear from and engage with experts across CA’s various UPK and supporting systems, initiatives, and resources

Who should attend?

The Institute is targeted at multi-disciplinary LEA teams made up of key decision-makers with a role in planning and implementing various components of universal prekindergarten, including preschool, transitional kindergarten, and expanded learning. Team members may include representatives from departments/divisions such as early learning, expanded learning, special education, curriculum & instruction, assessment, professional development, human resources, fiscal/budget, operations (e.g., enrollment), and community partners (e.g. Head Start, private child care providers, Local Planning Council members, etc.).

WHAT WILL THE AGENDA LOOK LIKE?

  • Hands-on collaborative working sessions for LEA teams will be supported by a focused facilitator along with the use of templates, resources, and data packets developed for each LEA.

  • Presentations, panels, and interactive sessions will include topics important for planning and implementing early education in a school district, including developmentally appropriate practices, inclusion, equity, governance, leadership, fiscal systems, community partnership, and mixed delivery systems, along with the use of templates, resources, and individualized data packets developed for each LEA.
